Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I'm being productive when I'm really just procrastinating. Here's a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 12 Cores Ryzen 9 3900x, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 7900 XTX

This is a monster, my monster. As much as I absolutely love my MacBook, this tri-monitor setup has all the bells and whistles to do all I need and want. Productivity, gaming, programming, procrastinating, and more.

  • 16” MacBook Pro

The one and only supreme commander for programming and development. Amazing hardware, coupled with the best operating system, and the toolkit of champions. If only it could do gaming...

  • Triple 27inch monitors

Three 27inch UHD (7680x1440) IPS monitors at 75Hz with custom desktop mounts. You can never never ever have enough screen estate. 11 millions pixels does the trick for now I guess.

  • Keyboard and mouse by Logitech

Logitech Master series (MX 3S + MX Keys S), all wireless, no clickty click. Not much to say, quality speaks for itself.

  • Desk and seat

Herman Miller and SecretLab ain't got shit on Ikea. Ikea gets a bad rep, but if you ever wonder into the office selection. Get yourself a Markus chair and an adjustable Bekant desk. Works in commercial offices, works at home.

Development tools

  • PHPStorm

I don’t care if it’s missing all of the fancy IDE features everyone else relies on, Sublime Text is still the best text editor ever made.

  • VSCode

I don’t care if it’s missing all of the fancy IDE features everyone else relies on, Sublime Text is still the best text editor ever made.

  • TablePlus

Great software for working with databases. Has saved me from building about a thousand admin interfaces for my various projects over the years.

Design

  • Adobe Suit

All you need, for every type of media production. Traditional media, web, movies or sound. It's all there.

  • Figma

We started using Figma as just a design tool but now it’s become our virtual whiteboard for the entire company. Never would have expected the collaboration features to be the real hook.
